Mark suggested that when we ask reach out and ask non-Rotarians to help us on different projects, that would be quite significant to possibly increasing our membership.
Jim closed by saying that all research on this subject reveals that story telling is the most impactful way of getting our message out to others.
River Raisin Cleanup – Mark thanked everyone who helped last weekend and announced that we made the front page of the newspaper! Super effort! Kathye also thanked Mark and Mary for a tremendous job organizing the event.
Condolences – To Adrian Morning Club member, Jim, on the recent passing of his brother.
Grosse Ile Rotary Club – Kathye received a flyer announcing the upcoming “The Purple Gang’s Hit on Polio Event” on October 14th at the Detroit Yacht Club from 2-6pm. For more info go to: grosseilerotary.org
Fluency Friends – Mary passed around a sign-up sheet for this year’s program which will begin on about the second week in October. More info coming. All volunteers will need to submit a Background Check Form.
New District Directories – They have been releases! Be sure and get your copy at the head table next week.
Lenawee Humane Society Lockup – Mike Tobey mentioned that he and Susan were locked up to raise money to the cause. Still time to donate he said.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS – We are in need of members who want to join the Public Relations Committee. Presently the current members are Yours Truly, Jim Potthast, Rachel Kurowski, Mike and Susan Tobey and John Elchert. At the Club Assembly next week, the committee will be making a brief presentation to give you an idea where the committee is headed. September 27 - Financial Literacy Fair – Kathye announced for Patty Clark this week that this event will take place on Thursday, September 27th from 8am-12 noon. It’s a “Reality Fair”. More info coming.
October 10 – Euchre Night – A Wednesday at 6:30-Armory event Center (generously donated by the Murray's). Euchre for polio. Entry fee-donation. Do not need a partner because we will find you one that night! Snacks furnished but BYOB. We will do a 50/50 and have a few items to raffle as well as door prizes. PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! If you cannot attend but would like to donate a raffle item or door prize let us know...all appreciated. The donation box for polio plus will be passed around this week at the meeting. All money raised will go to Polio Plus!

2018-19 RI President Barry Rassin wants Rotary members to Be the Inspiration
Rassin, a member of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, unveiled the 2018-19 presidential theme, Be the Inspiration, to incoming district governors at Rotary’s International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA. “I want you to inspire in your clubs, your Rotarians, that desire for something greater. The drive to do more, to be more, to create something that will live beyond each of us.”
