Londa introduced toda's speaker, Melissa Tsuji, who provided members a great overview of the Chamber at today's meeting.
Melissa has lead the Chamber as its Director for just less than a year. Prior to that she chaired the board two years ago. The Camber's mission, Melissa said, was to be "a member organization committed to encouraging, promoting, and building businesses in Lenawee County" as well as a hyper-local netwrok designed to drive growth in Adrian, Tecumseh and Lenawee County. The Chamber currently has 300 members.
I will bullet the topics Melissa covered:
KEY PILLARS OF THE CHAMBER
Business support & Resources
Networking & Community Building
Advocacy
ROI FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE LENAWEE CHAMBER
Credibility & Consumer Trust
Trust Factor: Consumers are 63% more likely to buy goods or use services from a local chamber member business
Reputation: 44% of consumers believe a business that is active in its chamber is "reputable" or a more "community-minded" business
Director to focus on areas including re-igniting Chamber relationships with stakeholders, business partners, members and the greater Lenawee County community, improving internal processes and systems, and more operational directions for 2026; dedicated to delivering highly valued services focusing on cultivating strong local business environments, expanding member visibility through marketing and sponsorships, and promoting business resilience through education. The Chamber, she said, will ensure that its programs are shaped to meet diverse member needs, making them feel supported and understood.
