Change Over Dinner - 2014

It was a great Change Over Dinner for the 4 clubs that attended the event at the Stables restaurant in Blissfield last Friday night. Attendees were not able to eat outside due to the weather but instead were inside on the second floor of the facility. Food was excellent!

Angie Wingerd (shown at left), Assistant DG, from the Blissfield club emceed the program and kicked things off by having Yours Truly lead the audience in song followed by each of the outgoing presidents giving a recap of their year. Mike McCaran from the Tecumseh Club went first followed by Andy Borchard from the Blissfield Club. Next was Bill Blackerby from the Adrian AM Club and then Theresa Soto from our club. Incidentally, also in attendance that evening was DG Nominee, Sue Goldsen from the Adrian AM Club who credited fellow Rotarian Bill Blackerby for encouraging her to become a serious contender the district position. Her husband PDG Bruce was also there but only for a brief time since he was flying to Wisconsin that night.

Angie then introduced the incoming District Governor, Liz Smith from the Detroit Rotary Club (shown at left) who swore in the new presidents and their respective boards. The new presidents sworn in were: Blissfield Club - Mike Cory (4^th generation Rotarian); Adrian Noon Club – Mary Murray; Adrian AM Club – Nancy Herr.

New Paul Harris Fellows announced were: Adrian Noon Club - Mike Olsaver, Joe Satterelli, Mary Murray (5^th Level); Adrian AM Club – Rich Donner (4^th Level); Blissfield Club – Erin Rudd, Dave Knapp (10^th Level) and Angie Wingerd (5^th Level). Sorry if I forgot anyone.

PDG Bruce Goldsen from the Adrian AM Club , Liz announced, was recently honored by the Rotary Foundation for meritorious service. She also announced that Jim Hartley was named Rotarian of the Year from that club as well.

Liz concluded by announcing the Meet the Governor night which is scheduled for Harrow, Canada – a 61 year tradition - on June 24^th beginning with Social Hour at 6:00 pm. The next District Conference will be held at the Grand Traverse Resort in June 2015.
