Six "Ovarian Rotarians" attended an event hosted by the Detroit Rotary Club, Women in Rotary, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Detroit Athletic Club. In 1987, Rotary Clubs began accepting women as members. This event brought together over 160 Rotarians from across two districts to celebrate the service and leadership of women since their inclusion.

Past Rotary District 6400 Governor Jennifer Jones, Windsor-Roseland Rotarian Mary Jean Gallagher, former Rotary Youth Exchange student Hannah Kelley, Virginia Nordby (the first woman District Governor in the world), Margaret Thorpe (Executive Director of Pro-Literacy Detroit) and Helen Reisler (first woman President of Rotary Club #6 in New York and President during the 911 attack)formed a panel discussion on their experiences, challenges and successes since joining Rotary. The venue, meal and time spent sharing resulted in a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours and a few stories resulting in this week's finemaster having some material to work with.
