Story reported on the LEDC website Generations of students have benefited from the leadership of Frank Dick. On April 24, he was recognized as one of Bowling Green State University's "100 Most Prominent Alumni" during a ceremony at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Dick received his bachelor's and master's degrees from BGSU and began his education career in 1950 as superintendent of Portage Township Schools. He went on lead the Pandora-Gilboa School District, the Sylvania School District and finally Toledo City Schools. His peers and community honored the Cygnet native with the Ohio Congress of Parents and Teachers Award. Dick is the former director for the BGSU Foundation Board and is currently a member of the Adrian College Board of Trustees. The World War II veteran served with the 80th Combat Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. BGSU decided to recognize its "100 Most Prominent Alumni" as part of its Centennial celebration. The Alumni Awards honor individuals who personify the University's tradition as an institution of excellence. Frank said that there are now 160,000 graduates from Bowling Green State University and Frank was recognized as one of the top 100...WOW! We are so fortunate to have Frank (and his lovely wife Shirley) as residents in our community and to enjoy his fellowship and service in the Adrian Noon Rotary Club. Congratulations Frank.
