Program December 13th- One Lenawee Complete Streets

     Mark Murray introduced Ron Evans (from Lenawee Christian Ministries) as a representative for One Lenawee and specifically the Complete Streets initiative.  Ron wanted first to clarify that One Lenawee's mission is to initiate governmental collaberation not consolodation.  One aspect of this is the Complete Streets initiative which strives to make Lenawee County more attractive to people who may be deciding where to live.  An important factor in this is the availability of safe walking, jogging & biking infastructure.  Examples of these include; bike lanes, sidewalks, bus pull-outs, cross walks, paved trails (Kiwanis) and curb cut-outs.  Expenses for this are minimized by planning ahead and incorporating the Complete Streets concept into future infastructure upgrades.  Ron asked that the Adrian Rotary Club pass a reslolution in support of Complete Streets to help add more credibility to it.  Go to MiCompletestreets.org for more information.
