Rotarian of the Year - Kathye Herrera

Kathye Herrera was chosen as our Rotarian of the Year. Kathye is past president of Noon Rotary and is a integral member of the club and  board. 

Nominees for Rotarian of the Year are asked to meet the following conditions:

•  100 % participation and in good standing
• Minimum 2 years as a Rotarian
• Be in or have held a club leadership role
• Foster and encourage the ideal of service integral
• Live and exemplify the Rotarian Credo "Service Before Self"
• Active in her community and example to all of what it is to be a Rotarian
• An example of voluntarism inside and outside our club.

Kathye meets all of these standards. She regularly attends board meetings and  always contributes to the discussions and helps in decision making.  She provides great assistance to current president Carol and will do the same for upcoming presidents Theresa Soto and Mary Murray.   Kathye steps up to preside over meetings when needed and coordinates and often finds our weekly speakers. Kathye willingly shares her knowledge and plays a active role in all club activities.    Kathye and her husband have volunteered to drive Trams for the MIS fundraiser and works several shifts during Art-A-Licious. She has organized and run our onion sale for the last two years. She hosted a summer party in her home and always contributes to the functions held at other homes throughout the year.

Most importantly I think Kathye is the heart of our club.  She makes all members and guests feel welcome by greeting them warmly from the check in desk. Kathye sends greeting cards to club members who miss meetings due to illness and makes sure they know they are missed. Congratulations Kathye!
